When I began photographing in the 1970’s I quickly knew I had found my passion. The energy I felt when looking through my viewfinder was unexplainable. It felt like a creative force, a calming electricity. 

Starting as a street photographer, I found I was (as with many of my generation) heavily influenced by the works of Diane Arbus and Robert Frank.  New York City was my perfect playground. 

Then I walked through the doors of CBGB’s in 1974/1975 and  I knew my life was going to change. I didn’t realize I would be taking part in one of the greatest eras of NYC rock n roll history and I would be viewing it through my camera lens.

During the mid 1970’s through the early 1980’s I began working as the NYC rep for the “Aquarian Weekly “ which later became the “East Coast Rocker “. I began documenting the music scene , fashion, and the creative arts at various venues trying to capture both the scene and the raw emotion of my subjects.
